About the Role: This position is designed for midlevel practitioners—specifically Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants—with specialized knowledge or interest in cardiology. As a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing advanced, patient-centered care to individuals dealing with cardiovascular conditions. Working under the supervision of experienced cardiologists, you’ll be instrumental in diagnosing, managing, and providing ongoing care for patients with both acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations for patients with cardiovascular issues.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including ECGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests, to guide patient care.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on current evidence and patient needs.
- Prescribe and manage pharmacologic therapies to treat cardiovascular conditions.
- Educate patients and their families on lifestyle changes and disease management to improve health outcomes.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible care for patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care.
- Mentor and support junior staff and students to help develop their clinical skills.
Position Requirements:
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree, with a specialization in Cardiovascular Nursing or Advanced Practice.
- Board certification, with specialized training or certification in cardiology.
- Current licenses in Alabama.
- Relevant experience in cardiology or cardiovascular care is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in cardiovascular assessments, diagnostic procedures, and evidence-based treatment plans.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
